A little Tree and a Giant smile
There was loads to celebrate with the boys from our dormitory
this christmas. It is amazing how the simple things bring so much joy.
A tiny little Christmas tree
donated from a visitor, took pride of place in the dormitory's hallway with excited boys decorating it.

Each of our boys received a pair of trainers on christmas day and as they put them on, they swaggered with a new
sense of confidence and dignity, proud at last to be ambassadors for nike and addidas.

And as is appropriate
for this season of new birth, there were 2 new beginnings for our dorm family.
Firstly, our main
dorm parent, Joao, celebrated the birth of his beautiful daughter, Lylia, on the 20 December.
Secondly, just
two days before Christmas, a new boy, Paulo, came to live in our dorm. He had been with his mum living at home, but
because of poverty and sickness, was malnurished and needed medical attention.
We gladly welcomed him and managed to
arrange new clothes and presents for christmas day. The boys in the dorm have cheerfully befriended him and we all love
to hear his infectious giggle!

Christmas day itself was a little overwhelming for
some of the younger ones... All the excitement soon caught up with one toddler who needed 40 winks before
he could finish his lunch!
Gracie took the day in her stride, and as always loved playing with the
boys and their new presents. As a result she now has a particular interest in matchbox cars...
And thanks to
her Grampy, she got a little taster of christmas back home by snuggling Mr Snowman.
